Quinnipiac University

School of Computing & Engineering Student Experience

Our students are high achievers who are energized by tackling — and solving — real-world problems. Internships and a multitude of other hands-on experiences ensure that our students are well prepared to step into the world of work and start making a difference immediately.

Collaborate, explore and make a difference

Regardless of the discipline, the School of Computing & Engineering is an inclusive community of equally driven and curious professionals who share the same passion for hands-on learning.

The Quinnipiac University Student Engineering Organization (QUESO) raises engineering awareness through various yearly events and community engagement projects. QUESO additionally holds networking events that bring together alumni, students, faculty and employers.

Engineering students participate in other events that are at once creative, competitive and collaborative. The computer science program’s High School Programming Competition bring teams of students together to excite future programmers, while the annual Hackathon focuses on a variety of topics, including the development of Android apps. The program is aimed at helping the kids improve their math skills, tell time and build stronger vocabularies. Off campus, students from all of our degree areas have exceled at competitions such as the Connecticut Technology Council’s CT Skills Challenge and successfully represented Quinnipiac at the ASEE Northeast Conference.

Where interests become more

Programmers and coders, planners and builders — Quinnipiac engineers are a community of active learners brought together by a love for what they do.

For them, the work is the fun part. A range of clubs and student-run organizations dedicated to science and technology, computing and service learning present opportunities for young engineers and computer scientists to live and learn with intention outside the classroom — and to have a good time while they are at it.

The Quinnipiac experience is one of inclusivity. We provide you with the outlets to explore your interests more deeply, connect with like-minded and driven engineering professionals, and build upon your current skills. More than that, our 100+ student-led groups and organizations enable you to seek out new interests and perspectives, and network and collaborate with students from other disciplines. The social and professional connections you’ll make will endure long after graduation.

Engineering student groups include:

  • American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
  • Institute of Industrial and System Engineers (IISE)
  • Mechanical Engineering Student Group
  • Quinnipiac University Engineering Student Organization (QUESO)
  • Quinnipiac Computing Club
  • Service Learning Applications for Technology and Engineering (SLATE)
  • Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
