Early Decision: This application plan is binding. Early Action and Regular Decision: These application plans are non-binding.
*The admissions committee will make every effort to have a decision to applicants within two weeks from the time an application is complete. Priority is given to those applying by February 1. Applications received after February 1 will be considered as part of our Regular Decision program. Check your admissions status
^The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is scheduled to open on or around December 1. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for financial aid as early as possible. Learn about the FAFSA
Admission Requirements
Your GPA alone doesn’t tell the full story of your academic strengths and talents. That’s why we look at many factors when considering each application for admission, especially as those factors relate to your specific program. We look at subject-specific courses you’ve taken and AP credits you’ve earned, as well as awards and other achievements.
Expected of all students:
High school transcript
A personal essay on a topic of particular meaning and interest to you that tells us who you are and speaks to your values, goals and aspirations as a student
At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or someone who can reflect on your dedication and work ethic

The bachelor of fine arts (BFA) program delivers a more intensive approach to acquiring the kind of real-world knowledge that drives the industry today. With a 63-credit load in the core and FTM curriculum and no minor requirement, students take more classes in their chosen field and have a greater opportunity to explore areas of interest through an expanded choice of FTM electives in production practice, history and theory.
A separate application is required to enter the BFA program.
High School and Transfer Applicants
Current high school and transfer students who have been admitted to Quinnipiac University may apply immediately for admission to the BFA program. Applications are rolling and may be submitted at any time. Decision letters will be sent out September 15 and February 15 after the applications have been reviewed by the BFA Committee.

Application Checklist
BFA application form
Application essay (500-word maximum length) on the following: Why do you wish to pursue the BFA degree? Which filmmakers and/or television producers have inspired you and/or influenced your work? Please give examples.
Digital portfolio (5-minute maximum length): Paste a link to a Vimeo, or YouTube, page of your best film work. This could be an excerpt of a longer film, clips from multiple projects, or a shorter film that is under 5-minutes in length. You should be the director of all film work submitted.
Review Process
The BFA Application Committee will review all applications. The Committee is comprised of faculty members from the Film, Television, and Media Arts department in the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University.

Current Quinnipiac Students
Current QU students who have completed two semesters of undergraduate education, or hold sophomore status, may apply for fall or spring admission into the Film, Television, and Media Arts BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) program. Applications are rolling and may be submitted at any time. Decision letters will be sent out September 15 and February 15 after the applications have been reviewed by the BFA Committee.
Important: To submit an FTM/BFA Application, current college students must have an overall Quinnipiac GPA of 3.0, and a 3.0 GPA in all film, television or media arts courses.

Important: The BFA Committee will only review applications that are comprised of anonymous material. Meaning, a student’s name must not appear on any of the application materials (except for the Application Form). Please use the last four digits of your Quinnipiac ID number on your essay and digital film work.
