Chair of English
Nicholas Robinette is an Associate Professor of English. He teaches courses in Twentieth- and Twenty-First Century British and Postcolonial Literatures. His areas of interest include working class and black British literature, environmental writing, the novel, and comics. He also teaches courses in the Environmental Studies program at Quinnipiac.
His scholarly work has focused on the intersection of postcolonial and contemporary British writing, especially the novel. This was the subject of his monograph Realism and Form (Palgrave, 2014). His current research focuses on autodidacticism, that is, writers who did not attend university such as Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, and Terry Pratchett.
Prof. Robinette is a first generation college student.
