Julie Hall, Ph.D

Professor of Medical Sciences

Julianne Hall joined the Netter faculty in the fall of 2016, where she teaches broadly across the 1st and 2nd year medical student curriculum, particularly in Systems Physiology, Cardio-Renal Pathology, and Medical Pharmacology. She chairs the school's Problem-Based Learning Committee, and she Co-Directs the Y1 Gastrointestinal-Endocrine-Genitourinary-Reproduction curricular block. Dr. Hall is also an active student advisor and mentor and serves on a number of national and school committees.

Dr. Hall was awarded the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year Award in 2016 and has received numerous other teaching accolades.

Dr. Hall has a strong scholarly interest in nuclear hormone receptors and the perturbation of the physiological roles of these receptors by environmental endocrine disrupting chemicals. She has published more than 35 peer reviewed articles in her field, and she serves as a frequent reviewer for scholarly journals. Of recent, she broadened her scholarly interests as the co-assistant editor of Berne & Levy Physiology 8th Ed, and the current co-editor of Berne & Levy Physiology 9th Ed.

Dr. Hall received her Ph.D. from the Duke University Medical Center in the Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology. She completed postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she was recipient of the NIH Pharmacology Research Associates Training Fellowship.
