The Zeta Zeta Chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma at Quinnipiac University invites you to help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 to donate to a place we hold close to our hearts, Camp Sunshine. On April 6th, the sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma will be hosting Katie’s Game. Katie was a kind, compassionate, intelligent young lady, none-the-less of an eager leader, who was heavily involved with Camp Sunshine during her high school years. Upon coming to Quinnipiac, Katie wasted no time getting her sister’s involved. During her senior year at Quinnipiac, our sister, Katie, was regrettably diagnosed with sudden onset Leukemia and in October 2005, Katie suddenly passed away. In honor of Katie and her commitment to Camp Sunshine, we are fortunate enough to be able to host Katie’s Game in her honor, marking 19 years since Katie’s passing. All proceeds raised throughout the week will be donated to Camp Sunshine, a place of recreation, support, hope, and joy for families of children battling life-threatening illnesses. Many of these families are facing financial burdens related to their child’s illness, so five days at Camp Sunshine serves as their vacation. This amazing experience is made possible through generous donations and dedicated volunteers, allowing families from all over the country to travel to Lake Sebago in Casco, Maine completely free of charge, many being sisters of the Zeta Zeta chapter following in Katie’s shoes. It is our hope that we can reach our goal with your support to send four families to Camp Sunshine.
