The 1929 Fund had its third annual breakfast in bed event earlier this semester — garnering a record number of orders, going up by 86% from last year and raising more than $2,000 to benefit student scholarships.

This year, the 1929 Fund expanded its menu for the event, and the reviews were very positive.

“It was a great mid-weekend treat and was warm and fresh,” said Erika Larson ’29. “I will definitely order again next year.”

Since its founding in 2021, the 1929 Fund has raised close to $350,000, benefitting several recipients each year.

“The increase in productivity, along with everyone’s determination on the committee to beat last year’s sales and reach as many people as possible, was mind-blowing,” said member of the fund and scholarship recipient Rob Cojocaru ’28. “I really saw how much stronger our teamwork was this year; everyone was excited and motivated to make the most out of the event for both the fund and all those who support it.”

Cojocaru said the 1929 Fund was more than just an organization, it was a way to connect with new people and step out of his comfort zone.

“Their support not only eased my academic stress but also motivated me to work harder, improve academically and build meaningful relationships with peers and mentors who continually inspire me to grow and become better,” he said.

The 1929 Fund is run by students for students.

“The fund is critically important as the cost of higher education makes it inaccessible for some students and this fund allows students who dreamed of coming to Quinnipiac able to attend,” said Chief Experience Officer and 1929 Fund adviser Tom Ellett. "That is what is at the heart of this for me.”
