Get to Know our Religious and Spiritual Life
Welcome to Quinnipiac! It’s a great time to become a Bobcat — believe me, I know. Like you, I am a new member of this wonderful family, and the more I get to know this university and community, the more I am impressed.
You are a very special class for Quinnipiac — and to me. You are the centennial class; most of you will complete your bachelor’s or master’s degree as Quinnipiac celebrates its 100th birthday. Passion, drive, and ambition are stitched into our very DNA. It is what defines us, what drives us and what makes us unique.
Your time at Quinnipiac will shape you as a person. And your passions will shape this institution. You will take a piece of Quinnipiac with you, and you will leave a piece of yourself at Quinnipiac.
Throughout your time here, you will learn, you will grow and, yes, you will stumble. And I will, too. We will get up, dust off, and keep moving forward. That is how we grow as individuals, as a community and as a university.
I encourage you to believe in yourself, to strive for your best — and also to take some educated risks. Take a course in a subject you know nothing about. Try an intramural sport that’s new to you. Travel somewhere you have only dreamed about. Reach outside your comfort zone. It’s the best way to learn and grow.
Throughout the coming months and years, come on over and say hi when you see me on campus. Or drop me an email or DM on Instagram. I would love to get to know you.
Welcome, new Bobcats!
I'm Catherine Gillespie, the new director of spiritual and religious life at Quinnipiac and, after years in Iowa, I'm thrilled to be back in New England working with you.
This year, I am especially excited about our vibrant Catholic programming, two interfaith chaplains from our Yale Divinity School partnership, expanded Jewish life programming — including a student assistant and a new student group, more mainline Protestant opportunities, an engaged Muslim community on campus and a new "Religions at QU" lecture series.
Not religious but spiritual? Join us for forest-bathing and hikes at Sleeping Giant planned just for you.
Some of our local faith communities are also now providing transportation to help you stay connected to your traditions.
If we crossed paths during Orientation, you already know I'm passionate about creating a space where everyone belongs. If we haven't met yet, consider this your official invitation to stop by the Center for Religion – just past the new School of Business, nestled between the two College of Arts and Sciences buildings.
You can't miss it, and the Catholic chapel inside is stunning. Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 4 p.m.
— Catherine Gillespie, director of spiritual and religious life
At Quinnipiac, we recognize and value spirituality and religion. We believe that fostering a meaningful academic environment that supports the academic and religious growth of our students is crucial.
The following are some of the activities the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and the Muslim Religious Coordinator’s Office have been invited to help shape the conversation of religion on campus.
Spirituality and Religion
Multi-Faith Chaplaincy: The Muslim Students Association (MSA) has been part of several multi-faith conversations that discuss the needs of students and provide perspectives for students to know and appreciate the different religious groups on campus.
Faith & Wellness Seminars: I have been personally invited to multiple religious engagements within Quinnipiac University, especially in the medical school, to discuss topics that include but are not limited to the psychosocial issues in healthcare centered around spirituality in healthcare and specifically around the thematic areas of communication, cultural norms, healthcare promotion, etc.
Religious Events: The MSA has hosted several events including Ramadan Iftar, Eid Dinner, Poetry Night, etc
We are excited about the new academic year with a new president. We look forward to more religious engagements.
— Iddrisu Awudu, Muslim chaplain
Welcome to our wonderful Quinnipiac family!
Throughout my 22 years at Quinnipiac, this university has provided me the opportunity to truly construct a dynamic Jewish environment that I hope you will consider joining.
I have worked really hard to deepen what it means to be Jewish at Quinnipiac. The proof of that is that we now have an Orthodox Jewish student group.
I am proud to host a Shabbat dinner at the Hereld House, located on New Road across from the Mount Carmel Campus, every Friday afternoon, that is open to everyone regardless of religious or spiritual beliefs.
If you ever need anything or have any questions, email me at reena.judd@qu.edu.
— Rabbi Reena Judd
Throughout the academic year, we're grateful for the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, our Catholic Chaplain partners. Mass is celebrated at 4 p.m. every Sunday during the academic year. They also lead the rosary, adoration and extracurricular activities in conjunction with the Quinnipiac Christian Fellowship. There will be a back-to-school BBQ this fall. Details to be announced at the start of the academic year.
This fall, we will also host a variety of events for students of all faiths and spiritual beliefs.
To help you more easily attend key academic and student experience events at the university, we are excited to introduce a weekly Common Hour this fall!
Held every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on our Mount Carmel Campus, this dedicated time — free from scheduled Mount Carmel classes — is designed to foster community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration and meaningful student support.
We are confident that it will enrich our academic environment and strengthen connections across campus.
The first event on Tuesday, August 26, has intentionally been aligned with a showcase of the South Quad; this new space has enabled the integration of a common time into the Mount Carmel academic schedule.
This will be the official community celebration of the South Quad opening, with opportunity to tour the facilities. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend as we welcome you and celebrate the start of a new academic year together!
Join us for an informative session designed to help students and families confidently navigate key campus services. This session will provide a clear overview of the essential functions of both Financial Aid and One Stop.
We’ll take a deeper dive into the billing cycle, covering:
When invoices are issued
Payment due dates and methods
Payment plan options
We will briefly discuss our services related to:
Academic records and enrollment services
Parking and transportation options
Meal plan management
Financial Aid will guide you through:
How to connect with financial aid counselors
Understanding federal work-study opportunities
Exploring options for covering balances, including available loan programs
These sessions will be offered:
In-person for families on the first day of each first-year orientation at 2 p.m. Students should register to attend orientation on Q-Start and their accompanying family members may attend.
Virtually on Monday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Have specific questions or need personalized guidance? Families are encouraged to visit during orientation during our Open for Business hours for one-on-one support or may contact our offices.
Email onestop@qu.edu or contact One Stop for questions about billing and payment.
Email finaid@qu.edu or contact Financial Aid for questions about financial aid.
Billing for Fall 2025: Notices that invoices were released were sent to all students and their proxy (parent, guardian, spouse or other individual). Now is the time to review the invoice in Self-Service and ensure that the balance will be covered by Tuesday, July 15, the payment due date.
Students may authorize a proxy to have access to Self-Service to make payments on behalf of the student or to view grades. In addition, authorizing a proxy also allows the appropriate Quinnipiac faculty and staff to discuss relevant matters with the proxy. The student may authorize a proxy to all or a subset of the following:
Student finance information
Financial aid information
Academics (final grades)
Tax information
Notifications (receive email notifications on the above)
Having trouble getting proxy access? View the Self-Service Student Finance Guide for step-by-step instructions on how to authorize a proxy, make an online payment, sign up for a payment plan and more.
Students who have accepted their financial aid offer on Self-Service will see their aid reflected on their student invoice.
Recently accepted federal student loans will appear on the student’s invoice once the approved loan is returned by the Department of Education for processing (this is generally a 48-hour process). First-time federal student loan borrowers are required to complete Loan Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note before the loan funds can be applied against the student account. Please refer to the Financial Aid tab on Self-Service for instructions to complete the requirements.
The invoice will reflect recent applications for a private student loan or Federal Direct PLUS Loan once the Financial Aid Office certifies the loan for payment. Please allow up to two weeks for the loan to appear against the invoice. Students who are planning to apply for a private student loan, or parents who are planning to apply for a Federal Direct PLUS Loan, should apply for the loan in a timely manner to allow for ample time for the loan to apply against the charges in time for the payment due date.
Information regarding private and parent loan borrowing is available at QU.edu/finaid
Outside scholarships will not be reflected on the invoice until received. Please let both onestop@qu.edu and finaid@qu.edu know about any expected outside scholarships as soon as possible.
Quinnipiac offers payment plans to help meet educational expenses. These plans are available for the fall and spring terms on a semester-by-semester basis and can be set up for up to five monthly payments per semester.
The payment plan is not a loan program. There is no debt; there are no interest or finance charges assessed, and there is no credit check.
The cost to budget the interest-free monthly payment plan is a $75 nonrefundable enrollment fee per agreement.
For the Fall 2025 term, two payment plans are offered:
2025 Fall UG/GR (Auto-Adjust) – this plan covers the student’s full balance due and will automatically adjust if the amount owed changes. Therefore, if financial aid is applied the balance due on the payment plan will automatically adjust. This adjustment can lead to an increase or decrease of the monthly payment plan. The remaining balance due will be split among the remaining payments.
2025 Fall UG/GR (Fixed Balance) – this plan allows the student to determine the amount to pay via the payment plan. To make any adjustments to the amount after the first payment is due, the student needs to email the One Stop office.

Information for the 5-month Spring 2026 Payment Plan will be offered with receipt of the spring semester invoice later this year. Payment plan registration is required each term. There are no payment plans for the January, Summer I or Summer II terms.
